Memorial Day Weekend | Friday, May 23rd & Saturday, May 24th
It’s official—the Hood County Stampede is BACK for Memorial Day Weekend 2025, and this year’s event is bigger and better than ever. We’re bringing you TWO action-packed nights of rodeo excitement, community pride, and heartfelt giving, all to support our mission and 2025 beneficiary, Be An Angel | DFW, an organization providing critical resources for special needs children and their families right here in North Texas.

Keep reading below for an in-depth overview of everything you need to know about the weekend-long event. Learn more about opportunities to be a part of this exciting Western sports fundraising event coming to Granbury.
Mark your calendars, tell your friends and family, and get your tickets to one of both nights; Friday, May 23rd is our newly added Bares, Broncs, and Bulls Rough Stock Rodeo and Saturday, May 24th is our classic PRCA-sanctioned Hood County Stampede Bareback riding event, appropriately titled Rockin’ The Riggin’. We will also be hosting a sponsor-exclusive event on Thursday night and opening the gates to the public on Friday during the day for a bucking horse futurity to showcase the up and coming livestock in the rodeo business.
Whether rodeo is your life or you’re looking for some new family-friendly fun and entertainment this Memorial Day Weekend, you don’t want to miss attending the Hood County Stampede.

🐴 2025 Main Event Lineup
• Friday, May 23 | Bares, Broncs & Bulls
We’re kicking off the weekend Friday night with this year’s addition of Bares, Broncos, and Bulls Futurity Event. This roughstock-only event will be a showdown of cowboys and animal athletes as they square off in Western sports' most physically demanding events; bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, and bull riding. You’ll find everything a rodeo crowd loves at this event; rodeo clown, trick riding, raffle games, vendors, live music, and more.
• Saturday, May 24 | Rockin’ The Riggin’ (PRCA-Sanctioned)
Saturday brings back our highly-anticipated, classic Hood County Stampede Bareback Riding-Only Event. Saturday night is a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) sanctioned event. Therefore, just like previous sold out events, you can expect to see the top ranked and toughest professional bareback athletes in the world face off against some of the rankest bucking horses in the professional circuit today. This is the event Granbury has come to know and love—and we can’t wait to bring it back to the arena at Reunion Grounds.
🐴 Bonus Futurity Events
If you need a little more of an immersive rodeo experience, you can catch two different futurity events this year that will be going on during the day at Reunion Grounds. This is not a ticketed event. United Bulls & Broncs, Inc. (UBBI) will be on site bucking:
Bulls - Thursday: 1-3 PM
Horses - Friday: 11 AM - 2 PM
What Is A Futurity Event?
If you are a new rodeo fan, futurity events provide a platform where stock contractors and breeders can evaluate the potential of their young inexperienced stock. The bulls and horses are judged on their bucking performance without a rider. Get a look at the potential future of some up and coming animal athletes.
🐴 Sponsor-Only Private Event
Thursday night, May 22, sponsors of the Hood County Stampede are invited to join us for a special meet and greet event. The event includes an exclusive short rodeo documentary premiere about the history and success of the Thanksgiving Rodeo School that was started by Hood County Stampede founder and president Wes Stevenson. It will also include a meet and greet networking opportunity with other sponsors, the Hood County Stampede team and some of the cowboys while enjoying live music and light refreshments. Special guest Ross Cooper will be performing one of his new singles, “Everyone Wants To Be A Cowboy.”

💙 2025 Beneficiary: Be An Angel | DFW
The Hood County Stampede is a 501c3 that serves a greater purpose. We love to have fun and be a part of the rodeo community, but we do it all to serve our community. Our mission utilizes its love and connection to Western sports to help raise money that we ultimately give back to children in our local community in need. Each year we select a local charity that aligns with our mission and goals. This year we selected Be An Angel, DFW Chapter. Their mission is to improve the quality of life for children with special needs by providing adaptive equipment, hearing devices, respite care, and essential support programs.
Be An Angel began in 1986 with one act of kindness—a wheelchair donated by a group of parents to help a child in need. Since then, their reach has expanded across Texas. In 2022, their Dallas/Fort Worth chapter launched, and they’ve already begun making an impact right here in Hood County.
