Charity Rodeo Details

The 2024 Hood County Stampede Xtreme Bareback Charity Rodeo benefitting the Beau Bear Foundation hosted at Reunion Grounds overlooking the historic town of Granbury, Texas will take place Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, May 25th. This rodeo has gained local and national popularity since its inception, attracting world-class professional western sports athletes and some of the most awarded stock contractors in the industry.

The Kids Are Our Purpose & Priority

The entire rodeo is to benefit local children and families in need and it has always been a priority for founders Wes & Francie Stevenson to ensure this charity rodeo remains family-friendly and entertaining for the kids.

About Mutton Bustin'

The Mutton Bustin' event has always captured the hearts of spectators young and old.

For those unfamiliar with Mutton Bustin', it's a rodeo event designed especially for children. Participants, typically aged between 4 and 7 years old, saddle up and hang on tight as they attempt to ride a sheep for as long as possible. Think bull riding, but with fluffy sheep.

The mix of excited and slightly nervous kids, taking on the thrill of competition, combined with the always entertaining M.C., Professional Rodeo Clown and Barrelman, Rockin' Robbie Hodges, makes the Hood County Stampede Mutton Bustin' an event that will bring a smile to your face.

What makes Mutton Bustin' so special is the sheer joy and determination radiating from the pint-sized riders. As they cling to their woolly mounts, their faces light up with a mixture of excitement, concentration, and pure adrenaline. And the crowd? They go wild, cheering on the brave youngsters with infectious enthusiasm.

But Mutton Bustin' isn't just about the thrill of competition; it's also a heartwarming display of camaraderie and support. Parents, siblings, and friends gather around the arena, offering encouragement and applause to every rider, regardless of how long they manage to stay on. It's a beautiful reminder of the importance of community and coming together to celebrate the achievements, big and small, of our youngest community members.
